Assuming the 2020 Super League winners will still receive prize money, my very simple idea is that this year's winners should magnanimously share this amongst all 11 clubs.
Given the health and economic crises it's remarkable we have the chance of a completed season. With the weekly Covid impacted fixture changes, it still feels like it'll be remarkable if we complete a season. For these reasons, any 2020 records will have an asterisk against them.
And if we do get all the way through to that Grand Final at the end of November, the winning side will owe a debt of gratitude to the other 10 sides just for being part of a meaningful Super League season. That's why I would love to see the competition winners share out any prize money equally. And ideally, it would all go to the players who've taken sizeable pay cuts to give us the game this year.
I've heard nothing to suggest there won't be prize money by the way. But everything in 2020 has an *if* attached to it.
There you go, a quick opinion piece. Let us know if you agree or not.
